The purpose of Parkside’s Connect Groups is to provide a safe place where anyone can connect with God, His word, and one another on a regular basis in a context that is smaller, safer, more personal, and more intimate than a large-group church gathering.
We at Parkside Bible Fellowship are convinced that a thriving small group ministry is a crucial component of the spiritual maturity and health of a New Testament body of believers.
We believe one of the best ways to grow in exalting God is to contribute to and benefit from the ministry of the Body of Christ to one another (1 Peter 2:5).
This ministry to one another, called edification, includes Bible study and teaching, encouragement, prayer, accountability, exhortation, worship, fellowship, mutual support and the exercising of spiritual gifts for the good of the body. The best place to accomplish many of these vital elements is in a group setting that fosters authentic and intimate community (Heb. 3:13; 10:24-25).
Evangelism of unbelievers will periodically happen within Connect Groups as God gives the opportunity. However, Connect Groups will more likely serve as launching pads for evangelistic outreach, service, and mercy ministry by the Group as a whole, or its members, individually (Acts 2:42-47).
Our Connect Groups exist to glorify God through:

Bible study and obedience
Trust and openness in relationships
Mutual Care
Ministry to one another via spiritual gifts
Outreach in evangelism, service and mercy

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Heb. 10:24-25)
