I grew up in a Christian home, my parents having both been saved just a short time before I arrived. I was raised on Whidbey Island in Washington, with a few years spent in Iowa – from beaches to cornfields and back again!

Christ made Himself known to me when I was very young. My mother faithfully took advantage of a teachable moment of discipline, explaining my sin and its consequence of separation from God forever (Romans 6:23). I was familiar with the Bible account of Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection to life again, but until that moment did not understand that He lovingly sacrificed Himself to pay for my sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). I am so grateful for His mercy!

God brought me into full-time ministry to children in 2002, and I went to work locally with Child Evangelism Fellowship. There, I received a tremendous amount of training and grew greatly in faith. After serving there for 6 years, the Lord directed me to ministry here with my church, where I now serve women and children.

My husband, Gene, is a wonderful man who loves God deeply and I am privileged to serve the Lord with him. God graced our home with 6 children, who are now grown, and 13 grandchildren!

The goal of my life is simple – to know and love God and to help others do the same. Oswald Chambers said it well in his book, My Utmost for His Highest: “My goal is God Himself, not joy nor peace, nor even blessing, but Himself, my God.”

I was born and spent my first few years in California and then my older childhood years in Reno, NV where I met and married my husband, Lynn.  We have 3 grown children and 4 beautiful grandchildren (and our grandson Destry, who God chose to take before we could know him).
My husband’s uncle and aunt were the first who shared Jesus Christ’s sacrifice with me in a meaningful way. They invited me to attend First Baptist Church (now Parkside Bible Fellowship), then pastored by Pastor Phil Blomgren. They, along with Pastor Blomgren, led me to understanding what faith in Jesus Christ means (Rom. 6:23; John 14:2-3) and the sure security of knowing that He will never leave me or forsake me! (John 10:29; Phil. 4:7; Heb. 13:5).

I have had the privilege of serving Him at Parkside for many years.
